About michael hynes photography
Michael is from Tipperary in Ireland, near the shores of Lough Derg on the River Shannon. He has always had an interest in art however it was not until later in life that he took up photography as a profession. Prior to photography, Michael worked in construction.
Michael lived in London for eight years before moving to the States in 1997 with his wife.

In keeping with a love of the outdoors, Michael enjoys capturing inspiring and intriguing views of nature and landscapes, as well as creating abstract pieces, many of which focus on botanicals and architecture. He works almost exclusively in black and white digital imagery, emphasizing tones to suit the image. Black and white photography has always been appealing, capturing Michael’s attention in a way that no other medium does. Michael prints all of his own photographs, ensuring every print is of the same exacting standard.
Professional Affiliations/Awards
Michael is a member of the Monmouth Camera Club, where his work has won numerous awards. He is also a member of the Belmar Arts Council and the Guild of Creative Art in Shrewsbury.
He has been selected as one of only six artists in the NJ Emerging Artist Series for 2009/2010. His very successful solo exhibition ran from June 4 to July 3 2010 at the Monmouth Museum in Lincroft, New Jersey.
Michael received two nominations in the 6th Annual International Black and White Spider Awards (2011). The nominations were in the Fine Art category where he received an Honorable Mention for his image "Boys of Summer", and the Nature category with his image "Snow Dune".
